Thank you for allowing us to introduce you to Assistant Coach and Assistant Coach PLUS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping boys and girls in communities develop healthy goals and positive self-esteem. Assistant Coach Inc. has been featured on Channel 9, Colorado & Company, and Mile High Sports Show. Obtaining media coverage is a core part of our plan – to reach out to children and families, while promoting our sponsors.
What is Assistant Coach, Inc?
Using basketball as our foundation, Assistant Coach and Assistant Coach Plus are not just for youth who are struggling in school or on the court; our programs benefit all students and athletes. Adolescents benefit greatly from physical activity, the discipline of being a team player, the opportunity to build positive relationships with their peers and the incalculable benefit of strong adult role models.
From humble beginnings come great things
Assistant Coach Inc. began in 2005 with 3 kids in a driveway in Highlands Ranch CO, teaching jump stops, dribbling and proper shot techniques. While the organization expanded to include 50 youth, we understand first hand that it takes parents, teachers, coaches, aunts, uncles, grand parents and communities to raise productive youth. We believe that youth should be exposed to character development strategies to increase the chances of becoming a better student, person and athlete. Shorty put- teach the habit, keep the habit.
An answer to physical education budget cuts
Many schools district facing budget cuts have cut physical education programs. Our Assistant Coach PLUS after-school program provides a solution to this problem, giving students the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed. By exposing them to subjects such as health and nutrition, literacy and physical education, we provide a solid foundation to prepare them for the world ahead.
After-school programs have tangible benefits
Studies reveal that students who are engaged in after-school programs are less likely to be involved in violent crime, drugs, alcohol and tobacco. And they are more likely to attend school on a regular basis. The hours between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. are key times to keep children engaged in programs, such as Assistant Coach.
