Far Northeast Regional Athletics & Activity Program
Presents
“LITTLE RAAP”
Powered
by
Assistant Coach
Far Northeast Regional Athletics and Activities Program understands and believes youth are truly
productive when engaged in athletics and activities. The region has adopted the Little Regional Athletics
and Activities feeder Program (“LITTLE RAAP”), powered by Assistant Coach.
Assistant Coach Leadership Series (ACLS) is a comprehensive model that brings education to athletics
and competition to education. This fun innovative program is centered on but not limited to, character
or personal development and leadership. ACLS utilizes supplemental education services to increase the
athletic and educational experience. This model has been adopted by the region and district and will
be implemented as an elective and/or before/after school program. These efforts are supported by a
collaboration of resources that provide research based curriculums offering professional development units
for administrators and accreditations for participants. ACLS teaches character development using athletics
and activities as the carrot to engage youth. The model will help youth acquire and become more proficient
in soft and hard skills that are critical for long term success.
Our motto—“WHO DEFINES SPORTS?” allows champions to be formed from all walks of life. While
athletics serves as a proven process for developing youth, ACLS wants to take this proven process, add
supplemental educational services and increase overall chances of success. Our goal is to facilitate
opportunities that allow youth to compete and feature abilities harnessed by program efforts which
ultimately dictate directional growth. The model is supported by an internal evaluation component and is
equipped with features that reflect the impact of programming efforts.
Our intent is to implement a supplemental education service program that focuses on the fundamental skill
development of participants in the “LITTLE RAPP” program. Through the described timeline below,
we will implement camps and clinics to raise awareness of the sport or activity offered, which ultimately
increases the pool of potential prospects. Our educational competitions are designed to reinforce skills,
increase engagement and simulate life like integration of new skills.
